Glymm Box: March

I was kind of disappointed this month with Glymm because they actually forgot to ship out my box. I never get a tracking number and a week after they shipped out I decided to email about it because I should have received it. They sent me my tracking number and I noticed that my box was shipped out that day. So I was really mad to be honest. Another thing that bugged me was that they didn't say sorry. On the tracking information they wrote a comment saying, "Your Glymm box is on it's way!" not even a sorry. :(
But they either put an extra product in my box for being late, or it was accidentally put in my box. So that kind of makes up for being late. But not really because I won't use the product.

The product card:

An offer for a product in the box:

Anastasia: Hydrafull Gloss: Get your lips softer and fuller! Drench the with multi-dimensional pigments that release high shine and colour. It stays put without the sticky residue. This rich and fortifying formula nourishes your lips with the added benefits of Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter and Anastasia's exclusive Balkan Botanical Infusion. Pucker up beauties!

To be honest, I forgot about this product until now. :) I put it in my lip gloss drawer and I don't go in there too often. :) But I will put it in my purse so that I can try it out because after reading that description it seems pretty good. It seemed a little sticky on my hand but I will have to try it on my lips.

Full Price: $27 for 2.2mL

M. Asam: Magic Fini: This silky formula blends beautifully into your skin to conceal uneven skin tone for a light, matte, natural looking finish. It smoothes away the appearance of wrinkles, enlarged pores and imperfections to reveal a sun kissed, healthy looking skin tone. It's magical!

I actually really like this! It might seem a little dark at first glance but it does blend really well into the skin. I was thinking of getting this for the summer. But I will decide closer to the time. I do like this now but I have better skin when I have a tan and it becomes a little more even and freckley so I don't need as much coverage and this product is perfect for that!
You don't need a lot of product at all and you can use Glymm points towards the full size so the price is okay :)

Full Price: $38 for 30mL

NuMe: Feather Hair Extensions: Get professional grade DIY feather extensions instantly! A beauty trend that definitely stands out! Coloured hair trends have been prevalent on the hottest Spring 2012 runways. NuMe extensions are 100% cruelty free, synthetically crafted from real human hair and ready for heat styling. Don't be shy, flaunt the feather!

I think this product is a little weird to put in a Glymm box. One problem I have with giving this to customers is that there is no beads with the extensions. You need special beads with feather extensions that you have to get from a specialty store (like Sally's Beauty Supply). They are like the beads when I was a kid wear you would make shapes and then iron them so they melt and stick together but they have a rubber circle inside to make the bead stick to the hair.
I probably won't be using these even though I have a bead because I am not a fan of the black stripes :)

Full Price: $25 for 3 feathers

Ocean: Nail Polish: A true trend-topper, Ocean Nail Polish Spring 2012 collection boasts shades that are vibrant, pastel and intense. This luscious lacquer applies super smoothly and streak free and is fast drying without containing any toxins. It's sold in upscale salons around USA and Europe.

I have not tried this yet. I am more of a pastel person for the spring and summer so I will probably wait to wear this till the fall. Possibly on my toes in the summer though. One thing I read on the facebook page was that this brand is hard to find if you want more colours. That is when I read the description and noticed it said sold in USA and EUROPE. This is a Canadian box.. why would they include something you can't repurchase?

Full Price: $12 for 15mL

This is the extra product I got in my box. I don't have any information on it and I probably won't use it so I won't include it in the total of my box. I will pretend I didn't get it! I seriously put it in my sample drawer and it will probably stay there for a while. I got a similar product in a Glymm box already which I mentioned in the video.

Value of the Box:

Lip Gloss: $12.27
Magic Fini: $6.33
Hair Extensions: $25.00
Nail Polish: $12.00

Total: $55.60

I find it funny that the product I like in this box is worth the least. :)

This box is nothing special to me. I don't think this is an amazing box and it didn't help that is was delayed in shipping. It does have a product I might repurchase full size which is good. It also has 2 make up products which is a big deal to me. But the feathers and nail polish kind of brought the box down in my opinion. I would have prefered a different colour nail polish and a different product instead of feathers. I would even have prefered a body/face cream and that is saying a lot because I am tired of those. If I was subscribed monthly, I don't think I would unsubscribe because the 2 beauty products make up for the other products in my opinion.
Glymm to me, is the only company I can expect monthly to get a makeup product. I am pretty sure I have always gotten some sort of make up product in and that is why I subscribe to the companies! :)

Luxe Box: March

I realize this post is super late and Glymm and Glossy box posts will be up right after this one. I have been trying to keep myself busy at home with friends because me and my boyfriend broke up and to be honest, I haven't been at home long enough to post a blog or edit and post the videos. I filmed the Luxe box and Glymm box videos the day after I got them and they should be up shortly. I still have to film my Glossy box video and March favourites and I have time to do that hopefully Wednesday or Thursday. I am working a lot this week so I will fit it in the best I can. :)

Some of the pictures are a bit blurry because the lighting was weird so sorry :(

These are all of the cards that came in the box:

Because it is their one year anniversary, they put a card in the box that has seeds in it. You can actually plant the card in a pot and wild flowers should grow. The company planted a card as well and are going to post the progress on their facebook.

The products!

Kerastase: Masque Age Recharge: Fine, brittle hair is repaired, transformed and protected. Each strand smoother, shinier and more substantial. Towel-dry hair after wash and apply a quarter-sized amount onto hair in sections. Wrap in hot towel. Leave on for 5 minutes. Emulsify with warm water, then rinse with cold water.

When I first opened my box, I thought this was face cream (even though I knew the brand was hair products) There is no real description or good instructions on the sample. I haven't tried this yet because of the way you use it. I like to use hair masks quickly in the shower while I am shaving so I will try it that way first. I probably won't repurchase since the price is very high.

Full Price: $60 for 200mL

DDF: Advanced Firming Cream: Advanced formula contains the breakthrough Tumeric Complex, with glycerin, zinc and copper that hydrates to firm and tighten, provides antioxidant protection for the moisture barrier, and promotes rapid surface cell turnover to help reverse the appearance of aging for younger looking skin.

This product is a repeat product for me. I only used it once the first time I got it because I don't really need firming cream yet. I also don't like using too many different face creams at a time because then you don't know what is making you break out if you do. I also have combination oily skin and a lot of creams make you more oily. But holy crap this cream is expensive, I just wish I had more use for it.

Full Price: $140 for 48g

MyScent Bag: Take a look at the collection of scents that we put together just for you. From sweet to sultry to elegant, we're sure you'll find a perfect scent for whatever occasion you may have. Take your pick for the day and have fun with it.

I do like the idea of a scent bag instead of one little fragrance sample. Some people don't like the fragrance samples because you can get them at department stores. But I don't personally ask for samples because 99% of the time I won't get one. I normally like to use one main fragrance so by getting little samples I have a whole store in my room for different occasions! I also live in a house of girls and have friends over a lot so they use them too!

Full Price:
CK one Shock for Her: $45 for 50mL
Vera Wang Lovestruck: $79 for 50mL
Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola: $79 for 50mL

Cargo: Glitter Top Coat: Let your eyes steal the spotlight! The ultimate transformer, CARGO's Glitter Top Coat takes your daytime eye makeup straight into the evening with one sweep of the brush. Infused with coloured iridescent glitter in a transparent base, it can be worn alone or on top of any waterproof eyeliner or eye shadow. The super long-wear formula is both waterproof and smudge-proof, and the magic tip applicator allows for perfect results!

This was a "First in Line" product. So you can sign onto your account and pick from certain products. I normally don't participate in those and let it be randomized. But the other products were an eye shadow (which I have lots of) and hair care products (which I thought might come in a packet and had already received) so I picked this. Also because it is different and I like glitter.
It does have more glitter then the pictures show, it is hard to see them all together in certain angles.

Full Price: $18 for 0.095 fl oz.

Also in the box came a treat for a man in your life. I personally would have liked another treat for myself but oh well. I did give this to my now ex boyfriend. Funny story though, he smelt this cologne the day before I received my box and fell in love with it. So he was pretty excited.
This sample is 15mL.

Value of the Box:

Hair Mask: $9.00
DDF Cream: $40.83
My Scent:
          CK: $1.08
          VW: $1.90
          MJ: $1.90
Glitter Top Coat: $18.00 (apparently it is full size!)
Men's Cologne: $12.00

Total: $84.71!

The total for this box is a lot but it is mainly because of the DDF cream which is just over priced. But if you need a firming cream then this box would be amazing for you. Another reason is the full size glitter top coat and some boxes didn't get that. Another down side is if you don't have a man in your life to give the cologne to, then that is a waste.

I thought this box was okay. I liked it better when I figured out it was a hair mask and not a face cream. I do like hair masks and I like the glitter top coat. The fragrance samples are not worth very much but I like the option of having those with my other perfumes to choose from. The down side for me is the DDF cream because it is a repeat and it the only product I won't use. I was still dating my ex when I gave the cologne to him :) But we are still good friends and if any other guy products come in a box he will probably get them.

WHAT DID YOU GET IN YOUR BOX?
DID YOUR BOX IMPRESS YOU THIS MONTH?
ARE YOU STAYING SUBSCRIBED TO LUXE BOX?

Monthly Box Comparison: TOPBOX

I am writing this post first because I don't have much experience with the actual boxes. I have received one that I got in a Facebook giveaway. I am using a lot of the information on their website to write this and will give certain personal thoughts but it won't be as detailed as the upcoming posts!

Name: Topbox
Website: www.topbox.ca
Price: $10 plus tax
Amount of Samples: 4 deluxe samples
Subscription Options: monthly
Shipping Date: week of the 10th with tracking number

Basics:
Topbox started shipping their boxes in November 2011 and instantly became popular because of the sizes and brands of their samples. In the first box, the sent out a full-sized Deborah Lippmann nail polish and a full-sized Cake hand lotion. Because of this box everyone got so excited and ordered, there is now a WAIT LIST until June/July to get a box.
The box is $10 a month (plus tax) and it is a reoccurring charge to your credit card so you don't have to order every month. Every month you are guaranteed 4 deluxe sized samples, maybe even full-sized samples. Each month, they try to customize products for each individual whether it be a scent, or colour, or hair colour.

Did You Know..?
On Facebook, Topbox posted that they made a mistake
in February by sending out little sample sizes!

Packaging:
The Topbox packaging is completely different than any of the other boxes. It is actually not a box at all, it is a TUBE. The packaging of the tube is even 100% recyclable! Topbox is well aware of the Earth and being nature friendly.
The tube is made out of recycled kraft paper. The way this material is processed takes less material and energy. The packaging is also smaller which means more tubes can fit in a truck, using less gas! The tubes are also wrapped in wall paper like material so that you can reuse the tubes for storage or giving away with a present inside!

Did You Know..?
Topbox posted on Facebook that people who
review boxes should wait at least 5 days after the boxes
are sent out to post a link on the Facebook wall!

Examples of Products:
Like I said, I have only received one box myself. So I have other people's boxes to help me out with this part.
I received mainly skin care products and I didn't get any make up :(
To see my box click here!
One their website they used to have a link to see previous boxes but I can't find it! :( Now they have a brand page and you can click on the brand to see products they sent out from that brand. Right Here!
Topbox is the first company to do this, others just have the brands listed.
If you want to see sample sizes, I would go to youtube and look up the boxes if you haven't already or even google if you want a blog post.
From what I have seen, samples sizes are always amazing and they are the biggest out of all the companies.
I feel like it is a guessing game on whether you will get a make up sample though so if you are in it for make up samples another box might be a better option.

Extra Perks:
Topbox has a couple extra perks to their boxes both including feedback surveys on samples received!
1. If you fill out a survey you have a chance of winning a full size product from that month. Topbox will pick 4 people to receive a full size product just for reviewing a product!
2. If you fill out a survey you get 10 points towards getting a free box! When you receive 1000 points you get a free box that month!
Let's do some math:
If you get 4 products a month and it is 10 points per survey =
40 points a month
1000 points divided by 40 points a month =
25 months!!!!!
HOLY CRAP THAT WILL TAKE AGES!

It is a good idea, but maybe Topbox should reduce the amount of points for a free box.

Customer Service:
I don't have toooo much experience with their customer service. But from what I have had, it is really good. They always get back to you within a couple days. You can ask a general (not account specific) question on Facebook and they will comment there too! (or another customer!)
They are always posting links on Facebook and Twitter and they ask questions on things they want to know about you! They also post a sneak peak picture on their Facebook of the tubes from that month!

Personal Thoughts:
I truly feel Topbox is one of the best companies in Canada doing this! They stick to a schedule, the always have amazing sample sizes (true deluxe size) and they are on top of communicating with customers. Obviously the bad part about Topbox is the long wait list.
Some people are disappointed with their boxes if they see the first box (in November) because they want the full size nail polish and the full size hand cream but every month cannot be like that. So I would recommend looking up the most recent boxes so that you can see what the company is forming into.
I really liked my box in January. I was disappointed that I didn't get make up because that is why I like monthly boxes, but the sample sizes were better than any other box that month and that is what stands out to me.
I have a million hand creams and face creams so to be honest I don't need anymore. But in my box, I got a foot cream which I hadn't gotten before and also a big size of shampoo and also different from any box, dry shampoo. I did unfortunately get a hand cream but what can you do? It was a decent purse size sample though!
Another thing is the perks. I had to look up the perks because I don't get my boxes monthly yet and don't really follow that stuff. But I think the chance to win a full size product, just from filling out a survey, is great. But I feel like having the free box be at 1000 points is a little ridiculous. I think Topbox should reduce that amount or increase the amount of points per survey. Because waiting 2 years for a free box is kind of pointless.

If you don't mind waiting to get a box or are not interested in the perks, I would recommend signing up to be on the wait list. It is a great company and I feel that they really succeed in expectations. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend (I have actually) but the wait list kind of puts everyone off.
I would recommend going on the wait list and subscribing to another box in the mean time.
