Glymm Box: April
Hey guys! I got my Glymm box on April 19th this month because Glymm was a little late shipping the boxes out. I am not sure if they forgot to ship my box this time though. Facebook said all boxes were shipped out the 13th but a lot of boxes got shipping numbers saying they were shipped the 16th or 17th. So who knows.
This is what I got in my Glymm box this month:
The product card:
Does anyone know if we are supposed to get two soaps? I only got one and it wasn't soap #1 or #6. It was number 4. The scent is okay, but it isn't my cup of tea. I will probably give it to my mom or it will sit in my drawer. So I haven't tried out this soap and probably won't.
Full Price: $17.50 for a pack of 8 soaps
Atelier Cologne: Orange Sanguine Fragrance: Atelier Cologne is a niche perfume house base in Paris and New York. Each scent is intended to embody a "singular moment" of memory and experience. We present to you Orange Sanguine. "It was the kind of moment you would want to revisit. Everyone was here, gathered on the terrace from breakfast and the scent of fresh oranges was diffusing in the yellow heat. A symphony of their laughter and waves hitting the cliffs played in the air."
This perfume does smell like an orange. It is actually really nice but it isn't a spray top. :( I realize this isn't Glymm's fault though. I feel like I wouldn't want to wear this outside in the summer because bees would be attacking me. It smells like oranges that much. I probably won't purchase full size because it is a little expensive but it is nice to have for now!
Full Price: $60 for 30mL or $165 for 200mL
Free Your Mane: Sulfate Free Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner: "I'm sorry, I can't make it, gotta wash my hair." You will totally use this line after trying this shampoo and conditioner. It gently cleanses hair and scalp while natural oils help rebuild your hair's delicate moisture balance. With an exclusive blend of Brilliant Baobab Oil from Africa, ultra-moisturizing Argan Oil from Morocco, anti-oxidant rich Pomegranate Seed Oil and Sweet Almond Oil it will truly Free Your Mane.
After reading that description, I want to try out this shampoo and conditioner to see what they smell like and how they make your hair feel. I just wish that companies would put their shampoo/conditioner samples in bottles! I hate the packaging of packets. They are more maintenance then they need to be. I will probably get one or two uses out of this sample.
Full Price: $16 for 300mL
Mai Couture: Social Gloss: Treat your lips with luxury you simply can't live without. Not only will this gloss fill in unwanted lines and restore moisture but it will create full kissable lips. Your lips will be healthy and plump. This sheer formula will create a sumptuous and luminous sheen. The secret: A complex mix of plant extracts naturally enhances lip volume effortlessly without the allergen. Your lips will be the life of the party.
I really like this lip gloss. I don't think I would purchase more just because they are sort of expensive and I have enough lip gloss. :) The colour is pigmented enough so you can see the baby pink colour but not opaque enough to make you look dead. It is a very soft, non-sticky formula so if you hate sticky lip gloss I would recommend you look into these.
Full Price: 5mL for $28
As a bonus, Glymm included a $100 gift certificate to use towards NuMe hair extensions or styling tools. I feel like this is the replacement to jelly beans. I prefer jelly beans. :) By giving out gift certificates, it makes me spend money! Thankfully, this time I didn't need hair extensions or styling tools.
You don't have to spend a certain amount to get the $100 off. But NuMe products are more than $100 so you will need to spend an addition amount. :( Which sucks and that is another reason I don't like things like this. I would rather another product.
The code is: NUME100
in case you wanted to use it and didn't get a Glymm box and it expires August 31, 2012.
All of the products together:
Value of the Box:
Soap: $2.19
Perfume: $2.50 assuming the sample is 1.25mL
Shampoo and Conditioner: $0.79
Lip Gloss: $28.00
Total: $33.48
Technically the $100 gift certificate is a BONUS and is not put toward the total but if you use it then I guess your box is worth a lot. :)
I personally did not like this box. On thing that always makes me happy with Glymm is that you get a make up product and most of the time it is full size. I really like the lip gloss in the box so it makes it worth it. But I don't like the soap. I would prefer a spray perfume or no perfume (perfume samples are worth like nothing and to me are just filler in a box)
The shampoo and conditioner sample is a joke... like really? $0.79? I don't pay $10 a month for a $0.79 sample. :(
The lip gloss makes up for it though. I will actually use it and eventually go through it.
Hopefully next month is better. Or even the next few months because my subscription is done in July! If they don't get much better, I probably won't subscribe again.

I wasn't thrilled with this box. Glymm needs to step it up! Of note, I had a different soap but it smells... like soap. I really thought it would smell nicer. I would never buy these. As for the lip gloss, I love the formulation, but either my tube is defective, or they need to redesign because when I remove the wand, there is nothing in the tube to remove the excess product and it is super messy trying to wipe it off back into the tube. Ugh. I called Glymm to ask them and I was told their tube was the same. Bad design.
REBECCA: I did not like this box either :( I do like the lip gloss though but nothing else. My lip gloss has a stopper in it so maybe Glymm lied to you so they didn't have to send another one? Mine looks exactly like a MAC lip glass tube. But the formula is amazing :)
